About Marie K Lynch
Connecticut artist, Marie Lynch, demonstrated a special gift for the creative arts at an early age. During childhood, she quickly progressed from one artistic project to another, and finally found her forte in oil painting during her teen years.
As the recipient of a full merit scholarship to the prestigious Silvermine Guild of Art, she diligently studied all aspects of fine art, including art history, design, printmaking, sculpture, and oil painting. During her senior year at the Guild, she was awarded a private studio space in which to complete her thesis and other project work.
After working for several years on large abstracts, she then concentrated on still life, and specialized in commissioned portraiture, with an emphasis on children and pets. Ms. Lynch is now working on abstracts in mixed media and collage.
Artist's Statement
It is a two-fold joy to work in this field... 1. The actual creative process of producing a piece, and 2. Your enjoyment of it. As one of the artists I admire Helen Frankenthaler expressed, it matters not what you see in a painting, a landscape, or still life, but only that you see the beauty.
